Figured these might be nice to see on a cold blustery day...

Last April while I was in Europe (There's some other pictures hanging around here of Ypres, Brugges and Brussels) we were in London for 4 days. Having already been there we decided to do some of the alternative touristy spots. So we went to the Kensingston Roof Garden which is located on top of the former Derry & Toms building on Kensington High Street. It is probably the most spectacular rooftop garden I've ever seen, and really nothing like the ones you find here (ya climate plays some role). It'd be interesting if something comparable was made here. It was free to wander around as well. Any questions, just ask. Enjoy!

could a mod move this to the proper section... I just noticed I put it with the Toronto pictures. Thanks

This is all on a roof, that's amazing! How about building something like that on top of Union Station. LoL, I don't even know if it's feasible.

Thanks UrbanShocker for posting that

JKS: Yep, it's hard to believe something like that could be entirely on a roof. I believe it's only 8 stories high or so, and you'd have no clue you were in the heart of London while you're up there. It's very quiet and peaceful up there.

Thanks for the photos, I used to be taken there by my grandparents - many years ago - so it's good to be reminded it's still there. I will try to get back to it when I'm in London in May.

Say, are those Canadian Geese?? Do they 'dirty up' the garden like they do waterfront parks here in TO?? How do the Brits deal with it??

First Grade student passes, JKS fails.

They're ducks. (unless you're talking about the pink things, in which case those are flamingos)

Wow, those are spectacular photos - thanks for sharing! Funny, because I spent nearly 3 weeks in Kensington, just off Cromwell Road last year and I'd never heard of this!! I'll definitely be checking it out the next time I visit! I love the mandarin duck in the first photo!
