Flar: This is a interesting second group of 100 pictures of Chicago and again I recognize much of what you photographed...

I will begin with pictures 1,2 and 99:

The first picture is looking northwest at the skyline along the lakefront with Grant Park in the foreground...

#2 is Trump Tower Chicago-which was built on the site of the old Chicago Sun-Times Building along the Chicago River and was clearly visible from the L on Wabash Street...
That building was about a dozen stories and you could clearly read:
CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
CHICAGO DAILY NEWS (that sign was removed when that paper folded in the 70s...)
The T.T.C. Building should be clearly visible from Wabash Street and the L today...

#99-the classic Water Tower on North Michigan Avenue-I feel that it was a good move to locate a tourist office there beginning in the 80s...
Above it on the left is the 70s era Water Tower Place building- which was the world's tallest reinforced concrete building when it opened in the mid 70s
and the enclosed Water Tower Place shopping mall is located on the lower floors of the building-which was a first for Downtown Chicago when it opened...

How long was your Chicago visit? Did you stay Downtown?
You mentioned taking Amtrak from Port Huron,Michigan-did you drive to PH or take VIA Rail from Toronto to Sarnia and make your own way across the Border?

I will comment on other pictures as time allows...LI MIKE

We stayed right downtown at Michigan and E. Wacker. Our trip was short, only three days, otherwise I would have done some neighbourhood tours.

We drove from Ottawa back to our hometown, Port Lambton, to visit family for a week. It's close to Port Huron so we took the Amtrak to Chicago and back. Amtrak was bare-bones, but cheap, and it was nice not to have the car in Chicago.

I'll post some photos of Port Lambton later.
