The subject matter in my following two photo threads will be based on the area northwest of downtown Toronto (roughly bounded by St.Clair, Oakwood/Ossington, Bloor, and the Georgetown Rail Line). This is the area that I grew up and lived in for most of my life. I have highlighted interesting places, and buildings, and also places of significance throughout my life. (Photos were taken on different days/trips so not every photo will be in exact geographical order) Enjoy.

Part I will focus on the half, south of Dupont.
Pretty epic Ukrainian Orthodox Church
Interesting conversion from Church to Lofts on Dovercourt
More condos on the way
Nice set of rowhouses
Moving west along the Bloor West retail strip
St. Anthony`s Church. Their school is a few blocks away, and back in the day was one of the neighbourhood rivals of my elementary school.
This Church is supposed to be another loft conversion. But in the mean time, is creepy as hell.
Can you tell this guy is Canadian? LOL
The Bloor Gladstone Library has been beautifully restored. The interior and modern addition look great.
Kent Senior Public School
Sounds like a classy place
Yeah...that was my first reaction too. Until I remembered it was also a buddhist symbol. So I guess we can all relax, as it isn`t an Eastern faction of Nazi revivalism.
We`re now gradually heading north
Every Sunday, the minister here gives crazy enthusiastic sermons in Spanish.
Some new townhouse infill
This is pretty cool. This Green Bin (for organic household waste) has melted and fossilized LOL.
Dovercourt Public School
Wallace Emerson Rec Centre, place where I learned to swim, skate, etc.
This retail strip along Lansdowne is a dead-zone but slowly improving.
Indecisive much?
Italian to Vietnamese, boy have times changed...
Soda and comic books...sounds like a good time.
Looks like a scene out of Grand Theft Auto...pick you ride.
The Georgetown Rail Line will be the western frontier of this tour.

We could use a few more of these modern loft buildings in my hood.
For newly built rowhouses, these aren`t bad. If they were closer to the sidewalk, and didn`t have that rooftop element, they look almost authentic historical.
Part II coming soon!
