YRT/VIVA

Really nicely done. They got their online trip advisor program working as well. Pretty easy to use, just like their "next bus" feature which you can get by calling in and entering the 4 digit stop number.

I'm very happy with the outcome of this website. Now the TTC should take an example from this and get start creating a new one like they promised.

They even have a transit game!

I think YRT has a terrible system map though - it breaks a lot of cartographic conventions, and streets are not shown well. The old pre-VIVA YRT maps were much better.

Putting the list of routes, then circles that represents connections to GO, Subway and Viva routes is pointless. It is better to use that table to show perhaps frequencies during times of day, like BT does.

AM peak - Midday - PM Peak - Early eve. - late eve. - Sat day - Sat evening - Sun

Viva and YRT are integrated but for branding purposes they are different systems...mildly confusing but once you know that it's all one fare etc. you can just shrug it off and get on with your life...

YRT puts MT trip planner to shame.

In the few minutes of testing it, it supply the info quick and in more detail than MT one.
