there is this really old house on Derry Rd and Bramalea Rd, it must be 100+ years old, its in a industrial area.
i remember when i was a kid driving by it, then it was just a house in a field, now there are many industrial building built around it. does anyone know the story behind it? did the owner not want to sell so they built around him? Historical house?? last time i was there the house was boarded up. i took many photos, but i cant find them now, so this is the best i could do.

What part of Derry Road? If it's in Mississauga and designated a heritage property, it might be listed/pictured here. The search function is crappy on it.

My best guess is that's it's either a heritage property or else is an old farm house that hasn't been designated yet but the city/municipality wouldn't let it get knocked down. Or else the owner the building next to it had a thing for harming old buildings and decided to keep it. From the shape of it, it reminds of more of an older church than a farmhouse (they're generally square) but without seeing a front shot, I really don't know.

Wow, they should really do something with it. Being boarded up and in an industrial area means you can't really enjoy the house, mking the heritage designation obsolete.

I've found that a lot of these places like this wind up as restaurants, with some additions tacked on. The Old Scott House; I think its called, in the Scarboro Town Centre parking lot was a ruin in the 60s and 70s.
