Hey, I'm really interested in the history of organized crime's involvement in real estate development in Edmonton. I know of a few cases, but would love to hear more lore from other members:

Some other older members would probably know more but that Dan White guy in the second link you posted has been linked to a lot of shady stuff. He was directly linked to the arsonist who was convicted of burning down the Kelly Ramsey Building, which conveniently destroyed paper records related to a pulp mill in BC also owned by him that hampered the BC government's investigation to recoup funds for cleanup costs. One of his companies also owned (or perhaps still does?) the lands of the former Celanese plant in Cloverbar, which has sat as a half demo'd and severely contaminated mess for almost two decades.

There was also this I found on a quick google about his involvement in some sort of criminal land scheme in Colombia.

Dude is a grade A criminal scumbag.
