Fire at Osgoode Station - 85 minute wait for University subway.

So sayeth my helpful HR department in warning us to avoid the subway.

Strange. I was there only a few minutes before you posted. And I heard no subway-closure announcements the rest of the afternoon (indeed, I returned to Osgoode around 4:40, no problem, nothing)

A Google news search gets no relevant results. I think there was no fire. I hope it wasn't a suicide (you won't hear about those in the news).

They kept saying a train malfunction for over an hour. I heard it when I arrived at Islington along doing a couple of stopovers before I left the system at Union.

Station name change a few times.

Thanks for the breaking news anyway, AP. Had this been more major or closer to rush hour you could've saved your fellow UTers some time.

It took me almost an hour to get to Dundas from Eglinton West because of this. There was a power outage at Osgoode so trains going south on the Spadina line were turning back at St. George and trains going south on Yonge were turning back at Union. The power failure also affected the Queen streetcars. There were lots of people waiting for them and they never came.

By the way, this happened around 11:30 am... the all clear message came around 1pm.
