This gesture is quite a tribute to the city of Toronto, and it promises to be a tranquil precinct. Now that's a modernist notion !

I assume the old Bata building wouldn't have been in keeping with their vision, but it would've been nice if they'd incorporated it into the plans.

Couldn't agree with you more. Considering some of the comments I've been reading online about this project, it may take some a while to warm up to it but I don't think anyone can argue against the Aga Khan's track record. And Christopher Hume is right, "if anyone can pull it off, the Aga can."
