I was in Quebec last year. I get the sense that the city pays for its beautiful, wonderful core (the old city and the neighbourhoods between it and Laval) with a really ugly surrounding area - with the highest per-capita freeway milage to boot.

I still have some old city pics from my trip last year. The old city really is something to see.
