I went down to the Toronto Islands last week and the new HTO Urban park a couple days later. Here are some of the pics I snapped. :)

A bonus shot of a tree in High Park. Pretty neat.

That's all folks!

Talk about debut posts!

Some interesting photo effects.

Overall, I'm noticing a lot more threads this year for the waterfront (I've given my share of six so far), what with Luminato, HtO, Ireland Park, SeanTrans getting a bike and all. Each one shows interesting things going on. I really think the waterfront, for all its faults, is turning a corner.

Great shots. Thanks.

The waterfront is slowly improving and looking better over time - except for the base of the Weston Harbour Fortress.

the waterfonrt is much better then it was 5 years ago easily.

Who says is not should really think hard and remember.

I think the waterfront is not a failure. A big part which is mostly all East of Yonge Street is quite bad till about Ash bridges Bay. However West of Yonge is very good apart at the Bathurst area.

I don't mind if it takes a long time if it is done well.

Much better than it was 35 years ago, too. As the photographs show, the largest area of grass and mature trees is still to be found in the quiet park south of the Harbour Square residences, though the Music Garden plantings have also matured nicely since it opened eight years ago.

I wanted to go down to Ireland Park but I didn't have time. The park looks great from pictures i've seen, another major waterfront improvement.

Apparently the lighthouse keeper of Gibralter point was murdered and had his arms chopped off. I seen it on TV... so it must be true. Love the Toronto islands- who says we don't have a big park near the downtown. I haven't been to the new 'beach' or the Ireland park yet but it certainly seems to be a huge improvement.
