The Bund waterfront promenade perhaps is Shanghai's most famous attraction. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves :

Night views of the Bund from a river boat are also nice to look at as many of the older European-style buildings have been lit up. I had the pleasure of doing so in 2002. Definitely worth doing on a summer night.

Nice photos. The photos I have from there were pretty bad with all the smog floating around.

The only bad thing about the photos are those red communist banners tacked onto the buildings, but considering the date the photos were taken on was the day before the National Day holiday in China, you couldn't really have done anything about it.

I tried to see the Bund at night too last year, but the lights were not on. Somebody told me they're only turned on during special days to save energy.

I took a cruise at night and all the lights were on. It was quite a sight but unfortunately I couldn't take good photos because the boat was moving.
