Chatted a bit with these guys on my way home. They're here for a full week and yesterday was their official launch. Apparently this sort of thing was possible because they fully avoided engaging the City of Toronto (apparently was an absolute bureaucratic nightmare to deal with) by occupying only private property and by functioning exclusively as a showroom.

In all seriousness though, I think it's a clever idea and I hope the city's bumbling bureaucrats don't hamper what could be a creative use of underutilized space.
