No views are gauranteed as many have mentioned on this forum already. You take a look at all of the projects objectively and decide on what project/building best suits your needs, considering price, location, ammenities, builder, etc.etc. Never base your decision solely on views, that is not what condo living is all about. If you want a clear unobstructed lake view, then I would recommend considering Waterscapes by Monarch just down the street. However be prepared to pay a considerable premium for that clear lake view that you seem so worried about. Good luck!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have also read that Krafts lease is up on 2014.

"The complex located at 10 Park Lawn Road was leased to Kraft as one
unit of office and one unit of storage with the lease expiring in July 2014."
http://www.cbre.ca/NR/rdonlyres/7E7...3D3357502C/751850/2200Lakeshore10Parklawn.pdf

so basically would Kraft be able to leave before 2014? and if they leave in 2014 how soon do you think buildings would start to go up? right away?

Caddy fleet - i would take the one with a city / lake view [i love the views and am big on it when choosing a condo]. i agree there are other considerations - most imp the fact that other buildings are coming up. the premium you would pay for going 600metre closer to the water (unobstructed monarch view) is 100,000$. To me thats not worth it hence i chose south beach.
i am not sure the layout of lido - but if it has the wrapped around balcony - versus the 7th floor which doesnt - it would be a super hard selection - as the wrap around balcony is definitely great too. If the 22nd gives you a water view - it might still be a great option.

Another watchout is 7th floor may not be high enough for all the great views versus 22nd is ideal.

cdr108 - these guys are super discreet as to the information they share and dont. they will also not send you price list over email or disclose on the phone. they really want you to come over and see the gallery before making a choice. their mkting probably is best in class!

This is crappy news. Really frustrating... :s
OMG the corner of Parklawn and Lakeshore is going to look like another Mississauga city centre. I am so frustrated about losing the South view!!!

If you really love SoBe I'd still say buy in because of the quality of the finishes and the space within the units and the OVERSIZED balconies. Those are all really rare features for condo units.

I'm confident these units will only appreciate even when the Onni buildings going up and blocking some of our views.

I don't regret my purchase, I'm just pissed about losing my lake view. :(

btw, does anyone know why there are no floorplans on the website?

I can not speak for them, but there are two very different views in making floorplans available...
(i) Make them available; and,
(ii) Don't!

Reasons range between developers, but basically:
CONS
(i) The average person does not know how to read a floorplan. Sure, they can look at it, and tell where the bedroom is, but they will not fully understand the plan. It takes someone skilled with floorplans to be able to walk the potential-purchaser through the suite
(ii) Overload of information... give someone 100 floorplans, and they will get confused and walk away. However, ask them specifics about what they are looking for, and give them TWO to choose from, and you may close a deal!
(iii) Give people enough information to wet their lips, but get them into the sales office to make the sale and the ultimate pitch.

PROS
(i) The belief that the more information, the better!
(ii) Agents can do a lot of selling these days, and as such, the plans need to be as readily available as possible.

If you bought the collins unit, you wouldn't have had a lake view anyways. Your suite is located facing North and West.

The land directly south [the empty lot with all the trees that has a fence around it and that old printing place have been sold. the printing place is gone in 2 years, I spoke with them.

so basically they are slapping condos directly south right beside southbeach, of course they do not tell you this when you go in, but you will get free drinks and some sandwichs.

Yes....onni of Vancouver is buiding condos there, I think we all understood that after the fourth or fifth time that you mentioned it. Enjoy the sandwiches and free drinks....they are great aren't they :p

no onni is buidling even more south at the corner of lakeshore and parklawn, where kraft and the other big office building is.

such nice condos and layouts just wish it was in a better location.

inbetween gardiner expressway/via rail tracks, beside christies [trucks going in and out] and beside other condos possible blocking the view.

and yes the food is good lol

Like someone mentioned earlier....the same type of unit that I purchased at SB which has about 1100 sq.ft of living space and 250 sq.ft of outdoor space is selling at Waterscapes for 145k more! Not a bad trade-off in my opinion...

the lido on the 22nd floor 2nd phase, was around 500k corner unit with aprox 1200 sq foot. view was s/e/w i beleive. 2 bedroom [very small den]

unit facing east at waterscape was around 500k, 1200sq foot. 2 bedroom no den.

so yes it is more $...

going in to check other units and views this week.

Different strokes for different folks I guess....I wonder why there is such a big price difference from the 2 bedroom units to the 2 bedroom + den units at Waterscapes? It's about a 100k difference for an extra 100 sq.ft...
