The Southwest Transitway is a high-speed roadway for buses, physically separated from the regular street system. Buses operate at speeds up to 80 kph, free of any other traffic, providing very fast, reliable service.
Stage 1:
The Southwest Transitway Stage 1 project included the construction of the following infrastructure:

Stage 2:
The next stage, Stage 2, will extend the Southwest Transitway from Pembina & Jubilee south to the University of Manitoba.
An alignment study was done in 2012 to recommend an alignment for the Southwest Transitway between Pembina & Jubilee and the University of Manitoba. The full report of the alignment study and the presentation boards from the alignment study open house can be found here.

Stage 1:

- A Transitway between Queen Elizabeth Way & Stradbrook and Pembina & Jubilee
- New Rapid Transit Stations at Harkness, Osborne, and in the Fort Rouge Yards
