Thread on the crap that we adorn our streets with during the holiday season that we call "decorative lighting"...

So far, there's been some consensus that Yonge and Spadina have crappy decorations.

Hah, you actually did it!

No offense to the Danforth, but these lights look like they take their cues from the Greek alphabet. They would actually work on the Danforth and not seem at all out of place.

Are the ones on Spadina supposed to be lanterns? The sailboat one on Amsterdam bridge on the Waterfront also seems poorly done mainly due to poor dimensioning... it looks like a kid's drawing.

Blue, white, and... orange? I... don't... understand. And don't get me started on the "tree" in Dundas Square.

those colours remind me of the lights from close encounters of the third kind than anything remotely resembling Christmas.

That tree looks great at night... but during the day it becomes a mess of metal and wires.

Yes, I love that tree at night. I think it should be bigger though.

The lights on Yonge are horribly ugly. The idea of hanging them across the street is fine, it's just the actual lights themselves. Ugh!

I like those polar bars on Yonge near college park, but I agree that the lights across the street don't look very good.
