This is a really good development concept. Having walkable areas away from the main roads area, plaza style, is sorely missing in the city. Not sure how to describe, but it adds a sense of "depth" to the urban area.

Really hoping the final product follows through!

I suppose I have a hard time picturing a park that small and bisected by a street really functioning that well as a "central park" and as result it sort of gives me that "eh it's good enough for Edmonton" sort of vibe.

This render admittedly is giving me a good sense for how it might work out alright though.

@ronron The city could have expropriated it, but it looks like they chose not to (they only expropriated surface parking, no land with buildings). Always take renderings with heavy grains of rock salt.

Nope, looks like the CIty is purchasing the Doans property (it has not closed yet), not through expropriation however.

Would be amazing if the city comes through and does this. A central park downtown of this size doesn't happen often.

Also noticed that the park includes the lot that is/was up for sale by Lamb for the defunct Jasper House condos. I'll take Dave's advice and not take the render too literally, but - crosses fingers - did the city purchase that as well?
