220-222 Main Street West and 115-117 George Street: a proposed 23-storey mixed-use residential and commercial building designed by Kozlowski Architect for Coletara on the northeast corner of Main Street West and Queen Street South in Hamilton's Hess Village.

Renders from the Design Review Panel Presentation of February 2021:

Site plan: DA-23-069

"To develop a 23-storey mixed-use building with 317 residential units. The existing 2.5 storey building is to be retained and renovated to include at-grade commercial space and 3 residential units above. Includes 158 parking spaces."

Interestingly this site plan application is listed at 220 Main St W. I assumed the 2.5 storey building is the one fronting George Street. Honestly, the whole building should be retail, I don't think it makes much sense to both with residential here. Could have a larger retail space that way, but whatever, just glad it's not going to be vacant.

What's odd is that they seemingly just rented the commercial units at the southwest corner building which is going to be demolished.

Wonder when we'll see this one start, likely not for a long time at the rate they're moving on the property kitty-corner (Apex) by the same developer.

Hoping the design has changed to look less like the Platinum too, white and black Lego block look is... Uhm, not great more than once in an area, and this will be numéro 3.

edit: @RitsmaCW beat me to it!

Looks worse. Honestly it just looks like the drawing for the Craptara design at 96 Main E.

Infact it even looks.kike this proposal from them as well at 101 Hunter.

Coletara doesn't seem to want to be known for their inspiring design. Additionally, they seem fully unserious about moving any of their like 7 projects forward.

This one seems to be the next one they are going to push forward - but yea, they have a lot sitting through the zoning stage right now in no particular rush.
