Demolition of the building is starting...I took photos today...click to enlarge them below.

It's early stage--interior being gutted, exterior signage, plaster coming down...revealing a rather nice red brick building.

edit: Or maybe it's just prep for the sales centre?

the latest Condo Guide is out (Aug 4 - Sep 1)...on page 135...it appears this project now has a name.....Giraffe.....not kidding....

wait...it gets better...here is an excerpt from the print ad...

"G is for Giraffe.....Giraffes are polygamous animals...a few select males impregnate all the fertile females in a herd...Did someone say Viagra?"

and it goes on to describe the 'unique, stylish, and very friendly' condo...

...this one has to win some kind of award...you just can't make up stuff like this.....:p

One wonders what kind of amenities this project has to offer. Triple sized saunas and whirlpools?

New market segment - adult lifestyle condos!

AoD

I guess it was a less cumbersome name than the "Hetero-Alpha Male Tower of Power."

Will amenities include STD examinations? Lawyers discounts for paternity suits?

LOL...all part of the monthly maintenance fees....

It's across the street from a walk-in clinic and several doctors' offices. There are also several law firms within a walking distance. It would be a mistake not to include photos of these in the marketing material ;) .

Well the building looks awkward in an endearing way... just like a Giraffe. :D

Though compared to what's on the south-west corner, The Crossways is a masterpiece...

They're twin brick towers and hardly resemble commie blocks. It's problem is the neglected podium with no street retail, making it unattractive. Perhaps the new condo development and intensification will encourage the owners to invest more in the podium.
