The description of the renovations made it sound like most of the money is being spent at Hamilton GO Centre. Sounded like they are renovating parts of the interior of that station, and possibly even redesigning the bus station there. I also wouldn't be surprised if they modernized the train platform there, as it is quite dated. Probably a new canopy to be more in line with the rest of the GO network.

Can’t wait for them to get rid of the slippery-when-wet green ‘pedestrian paint’ !!!

Hopefully they’ll tear down all the prison gates they installed to stop people from crossing James Street?

Or maybe they’ll just add more enhanced bus shelters in front of their rural head office?

The Hamilton GO Centre has been overtaken by homeless people and is not a fun place to be. The washrooms are open for only limited hours on weekdays and not at all on weekends... and when they are open, there are shady goings-on in them. The station building itself closes up hours before service stops for the night. Just a sad scene.

Totally agree. I live right by there and at times it can be straight up frightening to walk through. I have noticed recently that they have stepped up GO Special Constable presence at least. But I hope the upcoming renovations include more security measures. Not really sure what that might look like, but something has to be done.

Reminds me of the condos at Dundurn & Aberdeen, which are quite pedestrian-hostile.

This could use one of those Grab-n-Go markets. Would make a lot of money off those waiting for a train to TO or Niagara.

Honestly though, as as someone who lives nearby I'd just like to see it move forward. I honestly think they could probably move forward asap as rentals if they wanted. It's a high demand rental area, especially near GO. But it seems this "developer" is more interested in condominium development.

Considering West Harbour GO just underwent renovations to limit the amount of publicly-available space, I highly doubt any retail would go in there.

Did you hear that on YouTube or the Radio? How much taxpayer money is he spending on ad space to brainwash Ontario’s pigeons!?

Hamilton Transit has been completely ignored by Ford’s Government, while favouring getting Toronto’s wealthy to Niagara’s casinos.

The (GO) Transit Ads only mention a “20-minute” decrease in travel time between Toronto and Niagara.
Nothing about better service to/from Hamilton.
Just a mention about getting to Niagara Falls twenty-minutes faster.

If they got the LRT started I'd have a lot more interest in this government, but the anti-4plex NIMBYism, anti-density around transit, green belt flip flop, along with being good for beer policy and transit alone has been pretty mediocre.

I do think the current government has been legitimately good for transit and alcohol policy, but during what is essentially a crisis of housing, education, and hospitals, the government has been absent. If we want to talk about priorities, education, healthcare and housing are the backbone of our economy and culture.

I'd also like to see some stability in policy instead of rushing back and forth and backpedaling constantly. This government is a bit to wishy washy.

I honestly expect a backpedal on the federal housing money too, and accept it. Which is bothersome politics to follow.

I'd be more interested if the lrt wasn't just a fast lane for mcmaster students to shave a few minutes off to go to.. eastgate?

Like seriously, we have buses, and I feel this lrt isn't going to benefit the majority of people who actually live in this city and want to go to meaningful places. Meanwhile like 90 building plots remain demolished and vacant, booted out to find other locations on our busiest street running east to west. Least they coulda done is carved up cannon or barton and actually done a good job of cleaning up one of our worst streets in the process instead of cripping arguably our best street.

And I get why they did king, but its gonna be a nightmare, esp in that tight spot where the "official downtown" entrance is with the rowhouses on both sides.
