What does Airbnb got to do with crime?
This shooting was the result of two rival gangs encountering each other that night. One of the gangs had rented one of those condo units for a party via Airbnb. The other gang caught wind and showed up at the party to take care of business.

A couple of people at a conference near by said they were staying in this building. The small parkette downstairs looks pretty good, and I like the digital art boards. To bad the tower looks so bad from so many vantages near by.

It's odd because the second picture reveals that it's actually not too bad until you get above the balconies. After that, it just devolves into a shitty spandrelfest. Why would you want less glazing on your premium, top-of-building suites?

Not really an update, but I passed by this building recently and the park and art installation are completely wrecked- I think it’s been taken over as a quasi- dog park.

This would probably count as a green space design/maintenance failure @Northern Light .

Yeah, I mean, I opposed this being a park in the first place for the reasons I routinely outline, it's exceedingly challenging to create a functional park is such a small space, particularly when surrounded by such density.

That said, I've been by here, the trees are surprisingly healthy considering.........but yes, there are no understory plants or grass.

It's fixable, but it means putting up ornamental fences 2.5 feet high so people can't or at least it's much more difficult for them or their dogs to trod over the planters.

Once the protection is in place, the soil can be de-compacted/aerated, and compost and mulch added over top and new plantings installed.

It will never be a great space, but it could be ok'ish, if properly maintained.
