This 11.6 acre plaza site in Vaughan on the north side of Rutherford Rd betweem Sweetriver and Canada's Wonderland Blvd has been pruchased for multi-use redevelopment by Elad Canada, KIN Capital Partners, and Mivtach Shamir Holdings Ltd. There will be a sizeable affordable housing component.

Looking west from Sweetriver:

Another weird case of redevelopment (a newer plaza to boot) when there's still lots of empty fields along Rutherford further east.

It’s a cursed plaza. The anchor has changed 3 times already, and the rest of the units are mostly services because retail never survives.

I think there is a new project website for this particular development!

Anyone, feel free to comment.

Unless YRT sees the light and decides to run 10 minute or better service, car dependency isn't going anywhere in this area.
Vaughan is only 273 sq km so it's pretty compact. I think they can create some bike infrastructure at least.
