If I did not remember the original building (and, of course, it's not all hidden yet) this 'new building" actually looks fine. I will be interested to see how they deal with the crown - the original one when it was lit at night was actually rather pleasant but the lighting has not worked properly for a decade.
 
I just don’t get this white wrapping on the collumn?
Black would be too 'classy" - if one is going to make a mess you may as well go totally overboard! I await with interest to see how they will deal with the crown - but suspect they may have some pillar-wrap left over!
 
I'm getting tired of this white clad trend in Toronto. It's not as bad as blue/green glass. But white is like grey. Don't understand the architects/developers on this choice of white for these columns. Doesn't go with the blue and makes thise building look cold and sterile. If it has a white cap on top that's like the cherry on top of this mess.
 
I've been meaning to ask this for a while - why does the thread title say 'formerly Simpson Tower'? Exterior and interior signage is still "Simpson Tower". Is that expected to change after the re-skinning?
