While I still hate this reclad - I do wish they had just gone with the darker cladding shown on the south side for the whole tower. The ugly greenish grey side looks so bad.

Looking at recent photos of the re-cladding it appears to me that they MAY be retaining the lighting at the top. Not sure it is good to draw attention to this building but ....

These cool colours, while doing little for the tower, do allow old city hall to stand out better against its background. At least old city hall looks better with this reno, which is... something.

I rather agree with you. On a side note I wonder what was in this location before this was built in the 70’s?

It looks OK so far, but they haven’t finished recladding the crown. Renderings of what they intend to do with it look truly ghastly!

That's a bit of a weird one- it doesn't look like they're stripping back the concrete cladding, so is it an overclad (aka a fake floor)?
