so weird to see this as anything but a parking lot. This is going to have a huge impact on the intersection.

West side Yonge street sidewalk been closed to pedestrians since beginning of September,… so they can dig under to build their Subway connection,… err, nope,.. so they can have more room to store their crap!

People ignore the instructions to cross and walk south on the other side of the street, and simply step onto Yonge. I've seen people with strollers do this, suitcases, teens. It's wild that no one has been hurt yet.
I've complained to the Councillor's office but I've heard nothing. Maybe because they put up the signage it's now 'ignore at your risk'?
There's also a sign further north on Yonge that the southbound lane at Sheppard will be closed mid-October, so maybe they will extend out into the roadway? Which will crimp traffic even further. But I'd much prefer that versus a pedestrian being clipped because they tried to save 5 minutes...

The local City Councillor's Office is notified of all Construction Plans with regards to road/sidewalk closure,... the fact that this local Councillor did not object to the Closure of Yonge St sidewalk and made no alternative arrangements prior is a failure on the local Councillor!
I'm not surprised! This rookie local Councillor has amongst the highest Cllr Office Staff head-count (about 10; oh and highest Office Expense!) - even though the Cllr doesn't Chair any important Committees nor a Deputy Mayor,.... within the first 6 months of this year, half her 8 full-time office staff left! Including the one responsible for Development (CityPlanning & Committee of Adjustments),... this in addition to all the Office Staff that left previously! The local Councillor's Office staff is a revolving door! Needless to say, most of the local Councillor's Office Staff have no idea what they're doing!

She is a horribly ineffective councillor who seems to care more about her own image (literally - have you seen the giant photos of her face at Mel Lastman Square?) than serving her community.

And given our political system that is structured to endlessly re-elect incumbents (with some rare exceptions), she's probably going to be the councilor for the next 20-30 years if she wants to be.
