For some reason I thought there was at some point some sort of observation on the top of Manulife Centre?
Manulife has the Panorama Restaurant and Bar on the top floor.

I agree that Yorkville is different from those cities, that's why I said this site is appropriate for a skyscraper. But Yorkville is still very close to low rise neighbourhoods and the placement of new skyscrapers has to be carefully evaluated.
Cities like Paris and Madrid do have skyscrapers but they're generally on the edge of the city instead of in established neighbourhoods. Their central cores are predominantly low and midrise, much more so than Toronto. They were examples off the top of my head to show that brushing off opposition to a skyscraper with "Tall buildings are in cities. Don't like it, move out to the country" is childish and simplistic at best. If you did the same thing with an 80 storey skyscraper in central Madrid you'd get laughed out of the room.
Decided to have some fun and try to feel this one out. I figured I'd be optimistic and make it the potential 91 floors. Total height of my design is around 1224 feet or 373 m. A pretty solid height. Used a lot of inspiration from One57 in New York City.
It's 277 meters to top of mechanical penthouse. Shorter than I would have expected.
Funny you mention that...That has more to do with the fact that their severely aging infrastructure could not support tall buildings in their downtown. You would probably have to build new sewers and water supply lines to accommodate.
It's public information as soon as the rezoning application is submitted. It's just a matter of finding it. I think they post applications on their website.Where has this information been released? At this point we have no information on height whatsoever...
