Well the street wall seems nice enough. A significant improvement from what was there before.

Between The Madison, 1 Eglinton East and this site, retail on the southern side of Eglinton east of Yonge is going to improve a whole lot.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the building right next to this, 76 Eglinton E (the building with BelAir Travel on the ground floor) to be redeveloped in the near future too.
 
You mean 75. 76 would be on the north side.

So I have been keeping the OP of the Midtown Toronto thread updated. This is the 30th site in the Midtown area I have listed. Here is a map:

Yonge and Eglinton won't ever be the same. This is a heck of a lot of density coming to the area.


Its amazing what a new subway line could do to an area. Especially when it crosses another subway line. It opens the flood gate to build enormous skyscrapers!
 
Nice to see it get a front page article.

Disappointing that the developer isn't going to use the large podium for office space. That would make this building and the surrounding area's street life much better.
 
Ugh. It seems so perfunctory, especially at street level. Insultingly simple; more of the “throw glass at the problem†mentality that plagues this city.

And must this replace an existing non-short building? If it was at least replacing a parking lot or a one or two-storey building it would still be worth embracing, but the current building isn’t exceptionally anti-urban.
 
Seriously Arvelo? You've been on this site long enough to know that one doesn't just propose buildings willy-nilly. You put forth a proposal for a site (or building) that you own. So, disappointed as I am to see anything by the talentless, ham-fisted hacks at Kirkor, yes, yes it must replace this 'existing non-short building.'

That was an excellent illustration. Densification exactly as it should be with surrounding areas & enclaves pristine.

Especially since the entire building seems to be empty at the moment -- a posted sign says the whole thing is for lease.
