I hope the lighting in this building is done nicely, the glass is very similar to 235 W57th street in NYC.

Yes, the lighting of the building as seen from outside will be important but it should be noted that the lower few floors of glazing are actually almost up to a brick wall as these floors (I think) have electronic equipment. This could certainly be disguised with skillful lighting and leaving them unlit would look "odd" - to be kind.

That seems to be aluminum on top. Icing on the cake for what is, to me at least, a very disappointing project. This was a gorgeous building.

The original top would worked well with the new curtain wall. So why did they fudge with something that wasn't broken?

We can rebuild it. We have the technology. At least the crown pieces look intact under the new metal hat for future architects to use as reference.
