Maybe they're just thinking of developing the parking lot next to it?

No kidding. LV has been all but bulldozed and what's been put up in its place is, for the most part, pretty harsh. What an epic squandered opportunity.

Are there plans to put any kind of community centre in LV? I can't help but feel this would be a great place for it. If one of the last pieces of character is being demolished, may as well get something descent out of it

That was a good typo! Getting rid of that building would be a descent. Yet another in a long line of descents.

The front half of the structure is to stay, the back half will be torn down to be replaced by the 16-storey tower.

The submission is a site-plan application only: this has already got the zoning it needs. Design by the IBI Group.

What possible reason could they have for tearing down half this building when they have a parking lot right beside it? Surely that's part of the property...

To stick another bland-as-possible tower on it, of course :p

Wow. CanAlfa for the win here...

At least they're keeping half the warehouse but damn, what a hideous clunker.
