This first batch of TCHC replacement townhomes are coming along. They are designed by LGA Architects.

I like that brickwork between the windows and the dash of yellow in the other window frames. Really, really nicely done.

Not so sure about that green and orange hot mess though.

I think the hot mess is fine - it's on a side street with no expectations, and besides it adds a splash of colour, which is always welcomed.

yeah, fair enough. Maybe I'm just wanting some yellow between the orange and green to better span the colour spectrum.

The green and orange "hot mess" is actually a renovated YMCA building and is not related to the new development.

Some pics of the old Alexandra Park:

Interestingly, this house looks as if it was transplanted from the suburbs.

It's remarkable that the city is rebuilding all of the larger community housing units in both Regent Park and Alexandra Park. Like a 5 bedroom house/semi has to be worth at least $900k

Why is it remarkable? It would be remarkable if they were NOT trying to meet the needs of the larger families.

I'm looking forward to a new neighbourhood between Kensington and Queen West. Toronto is well known for having hoods' weaving into eachother, Regent Park hasn't even finished yet, but you can already feel a great community vibe with every new amenity.
I would love it if they have a fair amount of retail on the main N/S strip. Does anyone know if there's any?

These towns are on the south side of an as-yet-unnamed new east-west street which will join Cameron to Vanauley, just north of SQ. From the 24th.

With Tridel's SQ almost finished and SQ2 almost soldout, I am looking forward and curious to see where the next building will be located. Hopefully it won't be called SQ3!
