Talk about a future blight on the neighbourhood.... but seeing how deep this excavation is... maybe they'll strike oil and the site will be repurpo$ed.

Given the proximity to the AGO and OCAD, the oil derrick could be camouflaged like this one at Beverly Hills High School.
