The high number is because of the extensive retail space on the Bloor ground level, and especially the full grocery store space on the rear ground floor.

I have not heard that one of the chains has leased the space yet, but the building is designed with that intention. Meanwhile, from a couple evenings ago:

I moved out here in summer 2021 and I feel like this site has hardly changed in that time.

A couple weeks ago they started excavating in earnest and now I see dump trucks lined up regularly in early mornings. Last week there was a day where I counted 15 in a line that stretched the block in front of the site on Bloor, and then up quite a way around the corner along Jane.
