Strange, five years since they launched this from scratch, and no permits.

Well technically the marketing and sales for Bisha only started in August 2010 ... less than 1.5 years ago

Yeah 1-1/2 for marketing/sales but over 3 years since the application was submited to the city

After going through AND securing approvals for a 18 storey residential condo in 2007... I guess the builder came back with formal applications for a 41 storey tower now (as others noted) ... WOW thats more than double then the previous approval

56 BLUE JAYS WAY
Application #: 08 209949 STE 20
Description: New rezoning applciation to permit the construction of a 41 storey point tower on the lands - refer to previous by law 1067-2007.
Non-Residential GFA: 11,089.00 sq.m.
Total Proposed GFA: 33,799.00 sq.m.
Total 264 units
City Contact: Philip Carvalino, 416-392-7574

While not as quick as some, 3 years from application to commencement of construction is by no means out of the ordinary, and of course projects which include hotels are inherently more complex than those without.

Where did you find this permit info AHK?

Are you kidding me? Not everyone here is a harlot of the development industry. Toronto would be a better place without half the stuff that is going up these days.

I love the interiors. Very "High-End" looking. Even if it is not one's particular taste, you can't help but feel ........

You are going to hate the next 50 years, where more density and taller building over 100 storey get built.

We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg coming down the road. City today 2.5m, 50 years 10m+

But what about things like the Tall Buildings Study and of course NIMBYism - won't that affect the number of super highrises that will be constructed? (I can see more 5-30 storey buildings along major areas roads though.)

I'm not opposed to building, high density, or tall buildings, just bad buildings, bad design, loss of richness and history, and bad city building.
