Sorry, but they do not have the recreational vehicles component of the the original Bombardier any longer.

If I recall correctly, the recreational components portion was spun out a number of years ago, in 2003, when Bombardier ran into financial problems with the costs associated with the C series jet program development. The Bombardier Beaudoin family members led a leveraged buyout with funding from the Quebec Caisse and Bain Capital. The recreational products company is know as BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) and is listed on the TSX as DOO with Bain Capital and the Quebec Caisse as controlling shareholders.

Terrific article. It still saddens me that this was once a company with operations in 27 countries and some 70,000 employees(not to mention its former rail division). To think what might have been!

I agree. Bombardier developed what is the most advanced single-aisle airliner in the world today - the "C-Series". Unfortunately, Bombardier was forced to sell the program to Airbus for $1 dollar. thanks to tariffs put on by the Trump administration at the behest of Boeing that made sales to American carriers impossible (so much for "free trade"). Today Airbus produces this airliner as the A220 and it is the most comfortable and efficient in its class - a real "passenger pleaser".

Bombardier was once #1 in the world in rail transportation after its acquisition of Adtranz (ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation) and of course, there was the legendary Canadian aviation pioneer and manufacturer DeHavilland that Bombardier had to part with (Q400) along with production of the iconic Learjet in Wichita KS. Nevertheless, it is good to see this new state-of-the-art facility here in Toronto where in 2025 Bombardier will start delivery of the Global 8000, the world's longest range and fastest (broke the sound barrier during testing) business jet in the world. Hopefully Bombardier can develop more groundbreaking aircraft. Perhaps the first supersonic business jet or even another airliner? Or dare I say it, a successor to the AVRO Arrow! It was not far from this new plant that the ARROW first took flight 66 years ago! (one can dream!) Who knows what the future holds for this legendary Canadian company. The sky is still the limit!

Of course, Bombardier got its start as the inventor of snowmobiles with the production of Ski-doo's a brand name that instantly became synonymous with the snowmobile worldwide and then followed up with the Sea-Doo's that created a whole new pleasure-craft industry on water! Before the halcyon days of Bombardier's "Planes and Trains" era in a corporate spin-off the Ski-doo division became a separate company BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) which is still an industry leader not only with Ski-doo and Sea-doo but also Evinrude outboard motors, ROTAX Engines, Can-Am off-road motorcycles and Lynx Snowmobiles.

WOW! What a legacy Joseph-Armand Bombardier left for Canada!
