Is the heritage home at 219 Main Street north still being retained? I saw it was for sale for $1 to have it relocated.

No, it's gone. The demolition crew waited until the end -- and a few extra weeks -- to demolish that house, I didn't know it was offered for relocation.

Anyway, when I was by on Monday, heavy wooden fenceposts were being put up, likely ahead of excavation.

223 Main Street North, a house built in 1878 immediately north of the land assembly, and currently used as a law office, was acquired by Solmar and will be used for "additional parking." As the house is currently listed, it had to go through a heritage impact assessment before it could be de-listed and allowed for demolition.
