It's nearly the same (gray, capped, curtainwall), but this (pictured above), ain't this:


And admittedly, I don't really know why. I know the shadow box does a lot for the depth, but it's just so off, despite being essentially the same thing.
 
I disagree... been visiting this little neck of the woods for various reasons since the mid-80s and I can tell you, it's definitely a new and relatively imposing presence on Wade Avenue. It looms over everything else in its immediate vicinity and its very modernity also sets it apart from all the old industrial stock cloistered around it. It doesn't feel daunting but it's definitely a sign of transition after decades of relatively static conditions.

I go back further than that. I remember when that lot across from this building was an extra storage yard for trolley buses for the former Lansdowne Division down the street where my dad worked.
