Wow, the two towers are so close to each other! I hate that they are both an identical shade blue/grey.
 
BSN is fantastic with its unique L massing, confident terracing and then the sheer tower. It's one of the more unique condos in the city.

Actually, BSN is waaaaaay better than that generic Glass rap-around gray blaaaah ugly giant box next to it.
It's even frightening that we are being victimized with its CASA II and sadly CASA III

Some one should stop the sale of the third phase.. !!!!!

Ahh, kweku. Consistent purveyor of 'grate taste.'
 
I'd also join the chorus for more BSNs and less Casas. One Casa is appealing enough in the right light, but the thought of three of those grey glass clones bunched up next to each other is kind of depressing.

Casa is great with a sophisticated podium, confident proportions, quality glass and the distinctive slab crown. But BSN deserves praise for incorporating interesting design details that minimalist towers typically miss--colourful brickwork on the podium, setbacks and unique but still urban massing, for instance.

The brick is an unattractive and dated mix of brown and taupe hues. The details they used are hardly interesting, and the setbacks are not inherently "unique". Modernist towers are not "missing" those sorts of details; rather, they don't incorporate those details for fear that they often end up appearing cheap and dated like in BSN.
 
It's not that Modernism is timid, it just seems to have forgotten many great design ideas that are compatible with its philosophy. The warm beige brick and dark green windows are a great historicist colour combination. In a world of flat glazed facades, terracing is an appealing architectural idea. Bloor Street Neighbourhood is an interesting development. Everyone can enjoy its warm and inviting presence.
