Which is more interesting? Frogs in College Park or cows in Oscar Peterson Place at the Toronto-Dominion Centre?

Maybe, the trees had had about 15 years to grow. Judge this version in 15 more years.

The cows, but the frogs are fun. Cows, pigs, alpaca or lawyers lounging in bronze in front of a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe tower will always win!

Big problem is that no one at the parks department or the city has any idea or vision of how to create a great public space. Sometimes with a lot of community input from intelligent, patient and knowledgeable residents you can get a great outcome, other times , projects are led by uninspired bureacrats, landscape architects and contractors. The outcome here is ok at best and could have been much better. The playground also shows how little thought was put into this space. The parks department has actually gotten better at building playground, earthscape is top of the line and has done some great projects here. But having two kids in kindergarten and having visited dozens of playgrounds I can tell you this one is one of the worst after the dismal effort at Sherbourne Common.

I was in this park over the weekend, and it's really very pleasant.
Lilies, Echinacea, maybe Hydrangeas, maybe Yarrow, those are all growing terrifically well. The lily pads dripping the water look great too. That's all very welcoming!

I like it as a square, but as a park it needs bigger trees and more grass.

It's actually pretty nice. I went there over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I do hear you on the concrete, but once the trees and gardens mature and hopefully portable tables and chairs will be added (like Berczy Park), it should alleviate a lot of the concerns in this thread.

I have been in person and I completely agree with this comment. It is so bare and soulless.

Perhaps citrus trees in giant planters would be a nice addition.
