I know that Daniels expects to be moving their head office in about a year from now.

Tower crane coming down?

View attachment 127375

I was thinking the same but the tower crane is still there today and it looks like the articulated crane has been lowered.

Not much has changed on the office tower portion. Looks like the cranes have been removed though.

On the residential side, looks like the West Tower has reached grade

I often swing by the area during the weekend, and this is the first time I've seen so much activity on the site - wonder if they are behind? The concrete pouring is continuing.

If they're up to grade that might be a transfer slab they're pouring, which would explain both why it doesn't seem like they've done much lately (there's a lot of work to set up the forms and rebar, with little visible progress), and why it seems like there's so much happening now (it's a large, continuous pour with many trucks lined up and lots of people running around).

They also tend to do transfer slabs on weekends, because of the traffic impacts of all those concrete trucks lining up

Ah thanks for the info. That pretty much explained the site today: cement mixers lined up around the block, and lots of construction folks running around.

Suppose I should reserve judgment until this section is a little more complete, but I do not like what we now see of the spandrel panels that have appeared on either side of the cut-out; it looks very incongruous with the higher-quality cladding on the black wraparound band:
