Nice find, khristopher!

Thanks for standing up for Mongo, Big Daddy. Clearly he knows more than architecture than

Gordon Stratford (Chair): Architect, Senior Vice President, Design Director - HOK Canada
Michael Leckman (Vice Chair): Architect, Principal - Diamond and Schmitt
Robert Allsopp: Landscape Architect, Planner, Architect, Principal - du Toit Allsopp Hillier
Shirley Blumberg: Architect, Principal – KPMB
Calvin Brook: Planner, Architect, Principal - Brook McIlroy Inc | Pace Architects
Charles Hazell: Heritage Specialist, Architect, Principal - Taylor Hazell Architects
Alun Lloyd: Transportation Engineer, Principal - BA Group
Jim Melvin: Landscape Architect, Principal - PMA Landscape Architects Ltd.
Roland rom Colthoff: Architect, Director – RAW Design
David Sisam: Architect, Principal – Montgomery Sisam Architects
Eric Turcotte: Planner, Architect, Senior Associate - Urban Strategies

Leading practitioners of architecture? That Condovo is crazy!

What is your problem??? What did I ever do to you to justify your attack?

Honestly, why do you feel the need to assign ridiculous inferences to me? Please point out to me where I said that the members of that panel don't know about architecture, because I thought that I was clear that they DO know a lot more than almost anyone at UT about it -- which is irrelevant to the point I was attempting to make.

Not to mention that your attack constitutes a classic example of the logical fallacy of "appeal to authority". If that argument were to be heeded here, nobody would be allowed to disagree with the people you had named, so criticism of any of the buildings they had designed would be forbidden. Somehow, I doubt that happening anytime soon.

Mongo, you accused the panel of being "driven by that emotional stance", and thereby discounted their professionalism. Certainly they are human and incapable of complete impartiality, but your comment robbed them of the respect that their position and experience should afford them.

My retort "Clearly he knows more than architecture than…" was in reference to the exchange between Condovo and Big Daddy, so it's an amalgam of their words, not yours. While I still feel you slighted the panel, it is really Big Daddy's characterization of their modus operandi that I have the biggest trouble with.

Is that parking above the TD on the second floor?

do you think? and why?

the yonge line is on the west side isn't it?

also, it'll be necessary to build a solid underground foundation anyways especially for 2 towers 40+s and 60+s tall.

Loving the podium, but the tower feels a tad random for my personal tastes. Still a great improvement on the existing situation.

It looks like it could be parking, a la the old Wesbury Hotel at Yonge and Carlton.

I think the Yonge line is in the centre of the city.

Thanks for the engineering pointer.

Yes - the Yonge line is on the west side of Yonge street when it crosses Eglinton. Easy to see from over the TTC subway tracks either at Hillsdale Avenue looking north to the portal going under the Yonge Eglinton centre or from the south side of Berwick, right over the tracks.

The LRT will be directly under Eglinton here - although I do not know the exact location of the station itself (west of Yonge? east of Yonge? on either side of Yonge?). One of the things the Design Review Panel wants is a grander entrance for the expanded Eglinton-Yonge station incorporated into this building, so there will be better underground connections for pedestrians under the corner here between the project and the station.

The DRP also wants a higher overhang for that office space - three storeys clear instead of two before the office overhang? - also to make the sidewalk presence grander.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Bazis and Varacalli respond to the requests.
