The transition between elevated line across the Humber River / Eglinton Flats, and the short tunneled section connecting to Mount Dennis station will go here.

I believe this tunnel is going to be mined to Mount Dennis station. Too short of a section to bore and no way to pull the TBMs out at the other side.

Yup that's correct, or more technically Sequential Excavation:

11 and 13 Hollis Street to be torn down for a "laydown area" for the Eglinton West LRT extension's tunnel construction.

15 Hollis Street is the location for a 48 story, 583 unit condo development. So that's why 11 and 13 were not bought by Gairloch Developments. See https://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/15-hollis.45655 . Wonder if after the construction, what will happen to the property? A park?

Read the notice in the post above yours:

AFAIK Mx is just leasing the land from the developer during construction.

New RFP launched for the "Stations, Rail and Systems (SRS) package".

If it were me, i'd disqualify WestEx since they involve 2 firms with the current Crosstown mess (Aecon, and AtkinsRéalis -aka SNC Lavalin), and Trillium Rail since it involves the walking disaster firm known as Acciona.

That's unless of course, Metrolinx wants the Crosstown West to be delayed as well.

Metrolinx version:

The package of work includes design and construction of all seven new stations, fitting the tunnels and 1.5-kilometre elevated guideway with track and signals, and installing and commissioning communications, ventilation and other support systems for the new line.
The contract also includes utility work and road modifications along Eglinton Avenue West to accommodate construction and changes at Mount Dennis Station that will help connect the extension to future Eglinton Crosstown LRT service.
After the proposals are evaluated, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario will select a partner to work with over an 18-month development phase to further refine design, costs and project schedules. Metrolinx will then have the option to sign a final agreement with the proponent.

In honour of that RFP being issued: an update on the Scarlett Portal:
Tunnel wall construction continues and (not in photos as there were workers whose faces would be in the picture)) the walls of the actual portal are nearly finished

And in this photo you can see the little detail on the headwall of the portal, behind the crane's operate cab

Great! Now they can remove all the sod they just laid down at the station locations for no reason whatsoever!

Bad news, the existing tunneling contract is being handled by Aecon and Dragados, so they have a huge cost advantage here. I'd honestly be surprised if they're not picked.
