High-rise fire closes Sheppard Avenue east of Don Mills Road

A fire has broken out at a high-rise building near Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue, with thick, black smoke billowing from the building.
Sheppard has been closed east of Don Mills while firefighters work to contain the fire, which is causing falling debris on the north side of the building.
Flames could be seen shooting out from the balcony of one of the units of the building at Forest Manor Road and George Henry Boulevard at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30.
No injuries were immediately reported by Toronto police.
