the bridge hasn't started yet.... not sure if it will... you know Toronto.. the
only way to know for sure if a project is a "go" is when it's fully finished being
built.... we've seen subway and power plants cancelled, while they were under
construction.

When judging a project during the process of construction one must have the capacity to use one's imagination.

The pillars really do look great, but I think that the simple landscaping of (primarily) ornamental grasses is really going to set the materials of this new structure off once fully completed. It's amazing how much sun comes under the Gardiner at this location.

Impression: cramped, low-ceilings, dark, tomb-like. Is this what the architects were going for? Might end up joining the recent CN Tower base canopy and the aquarium entrance as yet another oddly off-putting arrival space for visitors to our city. Compare with the base of the Ryerson student centre, which already has a more inviting presence thanks to its better proportions and articulation of volumes.
