Looks like we are getting some movement on this site I'm trying to surprised that they got full approval for tree clearing given the sentiment around Collingwood regarding all of the trees that were cleared from 6th Street for the water main project

So the one thing in the article that irks me is the idea of this being solely retirement rentals The town has a massive deficit when it comes to housing stock for younger singles as well as younger families and a very very healthy overabundance of retirement only residences such as cranberry as well as raglan village and I think that making this retirement only given the location would be a huge mistake

It seems to be a trend in Simcoe County, as far as I can tell... the vast majority of higher-density builds in Bradford in the past ten years have been retirement residences of various stripes. Younger singles, especially those who grew up in Simcoe towns, are usually either living with their parents or moving far away. I wonder if the thought process is that anyone relocating to Simcoe County surely wants a backyard and two-car garage, and has money to spare for the same.
