I am posting this reply in NYC in which the high temperature was 70 degrees F today and I would like to
know myself how Toronto is in the aftermath of this storm...

300,000 homes without power. But since every home has 2 or 4 people living in it, its almost 1 million people

Pretty normal at St Lawrence Market. Likely that those in neighbourhoods without power won't be responding here any time soon

Lost power Saturday night at 3AM in Vaughan. Just got it back.

Downtown seems to be mostly restored. But driving back North on the DVP, there we a couple segments without power along the route.

It's ok! It's just so wonderful, charming and character enhancing to string out electrical infrastructure on rotting wooden poles!

I wonder how much electrical infrastructure could be buried with the associated costs of maintaining the above ground system. Including natural disasters.

Actually, the best phone is one of those old touchbutton phones from Ma BELL. They dont require electricity to function

Actually, they do. They're on a different low-voltage telephone line.
