It's nice to see that this new company is keeping the museum. I just figured they would drop that part of the development to save money.

Exactly.

Good lord - 7 levels? Even with the all theatres nearby this seems ridiculously excessive.

Is there a list somewhere of the deepest excavations for office and residential towers in Toronto? The Shangri-La excavation is claimed to be the second-deepest building excavation in Canadian history at 31m (102 feet), with Scotia Plaza the deepest at 33.5m (110 feet). Seven levels down for King Blue might be around 25m, which is deep but not quite as deep.

By storeys, Shangri-la has the most in Toronto with 8. RoCP, Burano, Murano, London reach as deep as 7.

Jameson House in Vancouver has 9. Three others have 8.

Scotia Plaza has 6 basement levels plus the vault. The rest of the core office towers have 3 to 5 floors below grade.

This has been a rather dull project since the property was sold by Mirvish and the new design was delivered from by the new developer - which is the same as now.

If 1-7 Yonge gets approved it might pass the 10 below mark.

1-7 Yonge is specced for 8 levels of underground parking, although I'm sure they'd want to reduce that if parking space sales don't match predictions.

I hope their windows are going to be glazed in a dark blue color like 5 st Joseph's windows are. It will really make the building stand out in the entertainment district. That would really emphasize for what the name stands for king blue!
