Glas has been an unfortunate project.
The building never turned out as glassy, sleek and reflective as their marketing renderings made it out to be (there are many other condos which are much glassier than Glas). Oxley Street (where it's entrance is located) seems like a service alley and is devoid of life, though something about it seems like a private club entrance which I think is cool.
It's sandwiched between the massive Charlie Condo to the south, Charlotte lofts to the north, and now the latest blow is this proposal to the east.
Mountain Equipment Coop is probably going to stay there for a long time, so it will preserve some light and views to this area.
It will be interesting to see what retailers will occupy the ground level of Charlie. Langston Hall on the SW corner of Adelaide & Charlotte will have two boutique retail spaces on the street level too. This block will turn out very nicely.
