And that blank wall will be no more when 261 King East redevelops ... though that is not a rundown building screaming for redevelopment

In the interim, I fully expect east face of King+ to be stucco/paint finished in some fashion

261 King East (Abbey Lane Lofts) is only 15 years old. I strongly doubt it'll be redeveloped.

Wow, that's surprising. The residents of the new building just two doors down to the east must be shaking their heads. To my recollection, the street shows that there can't be any plans to put another condo beside this--correct me if I'm wrong--so any ideas on the thinking behind this?

No doubt--it'll be covered. Still is pretty brutish, though. On the positive side, I was riding past here yesterday and noticed that the glass is quite nice.

Yeah, the glass is pretty much the only thing that has turned out well so far in this build.

What's wrong with it?
Well, if you read a bit further up you would see that several posters do not like the "façade-ectomy, the dreadful fake pre-cast bricks on the south wall and the (so far, at least) unfinished east-facing wall.

After seeing it in person the other day, I don't mind the precast. Not the worst, not the best.

They've started taking the scaffolding down. It looks really good. The new cornice is made of metal. I assume they will paint it.
