Shoring work actively underway. Given the overall size combined with having to work around the portions of the pre-existing structures which are being integrated into the new buildings - shoring will be a long process for this site.

Shoring along King Street appears to be complete. This is going a lot faster than I expected it to in these times. Excavation can’t be very far.

Sorry, just noticed that this pic looks to have been taken on a Potato XS

Unfortunately not quite the case. All that has been completed is the first small stretch of shoring on the King street side, where the red brick building, formerly occupied by Warners, and then temporarily by Indigo, used to be. All the other stretches along the north side of the property, where the building that was occupied by Spice Route is now gone, and around the portions of the pre-existing buildings that are being preserved and incorporated into the new structure, still need to have the shoring done. Along with the east, south and west perimeter borders of the King Toronto site.

Given the size of the site, excavation may begin in a completed area before overall shoring of the site is finished. Before excavation can begin in the area behind the short stretch on King street where it may now be completed (assuming it is now fully completed there), I would think that at minimum, shoring would need to be completed along the west perimeter of the lot, beside the Hullmark building, and the retention structure for the portion of the building immediately to the east, is in place and shoring there completed.

Given the number and location of the portions of pre-existing buildings that are to be preserved and incorporated into the new King Toronto structures - shoring and excavation of the site is probably going to be a complex, time consuming, long and drawn out process.

Further to the shoring - the following two photos show the length of the shoring piles - heard that many (not all though) of the shoring holes to be drilled are to be 60 feet deep - so presume these piles are in the order of 60 feet long. Shoring this site is not going to be a fast job.

Shoring along King Street continues to be ongoing - but is now getting closer to being completed in this stretch.
