Mississauga getting singled out by the sun.

I was trying to take a picture of the Ritz’s Building Maintenance Unit. Udo spotted the shadow on the building and used a version without zoom in his excellent montage.

Try to forgive the picture quality. I'm glad I don't have to pay the bills with my photo skills.

Here is SkyJacked's full size version of the picture. No need for him to ask for forgiveness regarding picture quality or photo skills. Please take note of the CN Tower shadow as it is cast onto the Ritz-Carlton. Perfect timing of the shot even though it might have been accidental.

^ Might have just found my new desktop background. Great stuff SkyJacked!

The water tank is looking good. (Nov. 16) Its primary function is to reduce sway in the building but I expect it would have a secondary purpose in the fire protection system. I don't know this for sure but it seems logical.

Union station progress, Nov. 14th... They pumped concrete into that slab for over two hours before I could see any on the surface.

At certain times of the year, north and west side residents of the L Tower will be awash in a beautiful golden glow of the sun reflecting off of the slopped roof of the (CIBC?) building beside the HHOF. As long as they don’t look directly at it they will be fine.

The first picture was taken with the camera tight to the glass and the second was perhaps 18 inches back. Every flaw and scratch and bit of dirt is revealed. It is impossible to look with the naked eye.

The glare travels from New York State to beat up on me.

At any time of the day the sun likes to get it on with the lake, particularly late in the year. Sometimes the beauty (and the work) is difficult to behold.

For the record, I do look to the north. I’ve included a screen capture from the “Toronto in Time†mobile app. I hope they don’t yell at me.

the height drop off to Massey Tower will be quite a sight to behold in that last view looking north ^

and wow. When 88 Scott is built, it'll have sorta like a spacious canyon effect looking north along yonge as well.

The views from L Tower are arguably some of the best in the city. You get a view of nearly everything!

Future Eastern Skyline

Probably most of you have already seen more of innsertnamehere's incredible future Toronto renders. innsertnamehere creates colour coded 3d models of buildings currently under construction (in blue), in sales (in yellow), approved (in green), and application submitted (in red), and adds them to Google Earth. He then takes screen-captures of how Toronto could look like from all different angles and heights and shares it with us on UrbanToronto. It must be very difficult to create all these models and follow the incredibly fast paced Toronto construction boom, but I think innsertnamehere is pretty much up to date with everything. If you haven't done so already you should definitely check out the "Future Toronto 3d model" thread and see more of innsertname's work.

After seeing his amazing future Yonge Street view, I asked innsertnamehere, if he could capture for us the future eastern Toronto skyline, as seen from the top of Pure Spirits, so that we can compare it with the current view so beautifully photographed by Razz. innsertnamehere immediately responded and with his help I was able to identify and label the future buildings.

Udo, Skyjacked, and someMidTowner: You guys have really outdone yourselves lately with some jawdropping photos, videos, etc. I think you have made this one of UT's most popular threads, by a long shot. I suppose the L-tower itself deserves much of the credit, but you guys continue to deliver amazing pics and inspire newbies like me. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

I totally agree. Razz, you have contributed a lot too. I am amazed at what I missed in just one week. Fantastic work!!!
