Are you related to Gemterra or something imperfect? You sound like a promotional advertiser that I know ~

Solaris, I notice that you are alike a troll who is perpetually recording his negative comments with a tone of superior entitlement to the extent only found amongst over-eduacated and underemployed self absorbed know-it-alls of which there are many in our City.

One gets the impression that all you do all day is be erudite (in your own mind) on matters of which you clearly have many opinions but little real knowledge.

What I really wonder about is your title - senior member !
What does this really mean ? Does it mean that you are better than others and are privileged to the extent that we are expected to genuflect at the mere presence of another stupid opinionated negative posting from you ?

BTW - I am neither related nor am I a promotional advertiser.
I am an urban designer (Columbia University GSAP) and I work for developer/builders in this City participating in the current spate of CONDO-mania (may it go on forever !)

Now tell us about yourself SOLARIS

MODERATOR'S NOTE: THIS MEMBER WAS GIVEN A TEMPORARY SUSPENSION FOR THIS POST. IT'S NEEDLESSLY CONDESCENDING AND RUDE RESPONSE TO A SIMPLE QUESTION.

Clearly you don't know how forums work ... if you think I carry a 'tone of superior entitlement', you should go read the other threads and what some other members post and the attitude that they have ~

I am a project PM / designer with a builder here in Toronto :)

Solaris and UT

While my post may be seen as condescending and/or rude by the administrators at UT I consider it a fair response to Solaris who, as I am given to understand, is a Tridel employee and shill.
Clearly solaris has no bounds when it come to being demeaning and overbearingly critical of developments that do not meet his uninformed opinions. Do a search and it will become apparent that he is a troll................and a shill

Re-banned for lesson not learnt - and conscious decision to re-engage this thread in the same manner

Realizing that you've been banned and all but...

"...Overbearingly critical?" There are few expressions of derision which could accurately sump up the steaming pile of dog mess that is Love Condos and the terrible marketing scheme promoting it.

Panel falls from crane, lands on man's leg in Scarborough
A large panel weighing several thousand pounds has fallen from a crane and landed on a man’s leg in Scarborough this afternoon.

Toronto Fire Service reports the incident occurred on the fifth floor of a building at 185 Bonis Ave., near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

The man is conscious and breathing.

Firefighters say hydraulic tools are being used to get the panel off the man’s leg.

Taken today. Cell phone pics so not the best quality.

I don't think this is as bad as some of you make it out to be. It's a slab, but at least it's not another drab, beige, pre-cast slab. I especially like how the townhomes turned out. Definitely a huge improvement over what was here before. What do you guys think?

While it's not elegant exactly (so few things being built in Toronto area), the aluminum panel cladding (sans mullion caps) is a big step up over all-spandrel-glass. They have used spandrel glass for the medium gray runs on either side of the central balconies, and likely between the windows behind those balconies, as well between first and second floor windows on the townhomes, but its use is nicely muted. The alternating multi-tone yellow, orange, and brown bricks of the townhomes, and then what appears to be yet another tone for the recreation centre, should be applauded for bringing visual interest at ground level.

I'd say this complex is turning out better than was anticipated. It has certainly faced a lot of criticism on UT, initially undercut by its unorthodox advertising visuals?

Thanks for the pics Salsa!

I think it's a nice addition to the neighbourhood. That lot was an eyesore for a long time so this is definitely an improvement. I especially like that the town houses reflect the orange and red of Agincourt library that's adjacent to this development. I do wish though that they had gone maybe 10 floors taller to create some separation from all the other towers in the area that are the same height.
